The range of laser cladding processing is expanded to inner diameter cladding

by:Caodahai     2021-09-26
Laser cladding can be used to add a wear-resistant layer or corrosion-resistant layer on the surface of a workpiece, repair a worn workpiece or a workpiece with processing errors. This technology is quickly and widely accepted by the market due to its cost-effective processing methods and a wide range of material applications (such as nickel alloys, cobalt alloys, iron alloys and carbides, etc.). The use of laser cladding technology is usually limited to the implementation of processing on the surface of the workpiece that is easily accessible. Recently, Joining Technologies has expanded the processing capabilities of this technology to inner diameter laser cladding, and cooperated with Fraunhofer ILT, Pallas Oberflaechentechnik and Laserline to provide a dedicated inner diameter laser cladding processing station. The new laser cladding processing head is installed in a computer-controlled processing system. The minimum internal diameter that can be processed is 2.75 inches and the maximum processing depth is 500mm. If processing from both ends of the workpiece, the longest length of inner diameter cladding can be processed up to 1000mm. Joining Technologies is able to implement robotic cladding processing, which can process workpieces up to 72 inches in diameter, 40 feet in length, and 6 tons in weight. 'This technology is an ideal choice for prolonging the service life of oil and gas equipment. We also hope that the inner diameter laser cladding technology can play an important role in a wide range of other industrial applications.' Tim Biermann, Director of Joining Technologies' Ru0026D Center Express.
